On The 14th May 2011 we completed the Big Black Mountain Challenge located in the Brecon Beacons. The challenge
consisted of trekking across 15 peaks in 12 hours, covering a distance of 30 miles. This challenge was to raise money for the construction of Megan’s Den‚ an outside classroom located in the grounds of Gayton First School. We raised more than £8,000 for Megan’s Den and soon after the challenge was completed the construction started. Megan’s Den was opened by the school at the end of the summer term, with an official opening on the 10th September 2011. You can read more about Megan’s Den by clicking here.
Sponsors for the challenge included A10 Autos for the loan of the mini-bus, David & Lisa Flux for the fuel and large
donation and V&J Knitwear for printing the T-shirts.
